My name is Erica Porter. I am a local resident of New London C.T. I am originally born and from New York City. I am a proud mother of four children and a loving wife. I am a self taught yogi that begun my journey in September of 2016. Utilizing for the first four months of my yoga practices, yoga on YouTube.(Several sources, none in particular.)
One thing I am not is a health nut, honestly. I love the aspect of a better way of life and health. But I am a realists when it comes to motherhood. I embed good healthy eating habits for my family along with fun exercises. But I am a foodie and so is my family, that consists of several nationalities of great cultural dishes to indulge in. Which brings me to why I fell in love with yoga entirely.
I always had periods of exercising with a goal weight to mind. I’ve always done workouts such as cardio based and Tae Bo. But never seemed to be able to have a continuing workout routine to keep me motivated, entertained in all 365 days of a year. But none the less, those workout routines got me to my goal weight. Once that was achieved, I’ve always struggled with that temperamental in between phase of maintaining it.
Once I started yoga, gentle yoga such as yin. (Focusing on more stretching and increasing of flexibility.)
I instantly noticed a change in my body that very first workout. No exaggeration!
Immediately I found myself hooked. It was fun, challenging too. But most of all it made me realize I wasn't as fit and strong as I felt I was. This simple yoga routine was the only workout that I literally found myself feeling every muscle being taking out of retirement , sort of speak. From that day on I became an official yogi mommy.
I am still at my healthy weight to height. Sure enough, with increasing my endurance and strength throughout time. I find myself progressing more and more every single day in yoga of all kinds of variations.
Yogi Mommy is based on my own journey amongst family and friends joining in on yoga adventures. I offer FREE community yoga sessions for all ages. I am a non profit humanitarian who believes good karma will always find it's way back to you.
My objective is to enrich people with yoga’s benefits and demonstrate my practice beliefs of
"No Expectations. No Limitations Throughout A Flow".
I look forward to seeing you at an event!
